Accommodation

The Bothy is a fully detached property located on the grounds of Churnsike Lodge, itself a peaceful oasis situated amongst the sprawling vastness of the Wark Forest. Built in 1850 along with the rest of the premises, the Bothy was originally the residence of Churnsike Lodge’s gamekeeper and hunts-master, who, amongst other responsibilities such as arranging shooting parties upon the estates 10,000 acre grouse moor, was also in charge of the fox-hounds of the Kielder and Irthing Head hunt.  Having recently been refurbished, the Bothy now serves as private accommodation for any prospective holidaymakers – a personal slice of tranquility to get away from the pressures of modern life.
